ACTIVITIES & EVENTS

In addition to reading and discussing books, the club may schedule an outing related to a book, invite a guest speaker, or watch a movie in the lodge. The Book Club has a booth at the Beach Day event to promote reading. Fundraising is not a major activity for the club however, the club may schedule activities to support the Eastern Brown School Scholarship Fund which was established in 2020. The club does maintain the library in the lodge where members restock and label the books by genre. The club also sponsors the Lake Waynoka Chess group that meets during the week to play chess. Beginners, ladies, and young adults are welcome.

MEETINGS

Meetings are held every 2nd Tuesday of every month at 10am in the lodge. Everyone is invited to join or attend. At these meetings we first discuss the “Book of the Month”. Members submit titles for the “Book of the Month” and a list of books is created.

The “Book of the Month” and a list of all the upcoming books are posted on the library bulletin board. The “Book of the Month” will also be listed in the club section of the newsletter. After the book discussion, a club members meeting is held to discuss other activities and events which the club may want to do or be a part of.

MEMBERSHIP

There is no fee to join the club. Membership is open to anyone with a love of books, reading and discussion.
